Comments: Seldom seen low-budget anti-drug infotainment of the factual, sensible type that came in vogue as teenage drug use spread like wildfire across post-flower power America. Narration consists of 8 "lessons" for "the parent who cares" and seems to be mainly recitation from government pamphlets of the era (1970). The spin is fairly honest despite the obvious bias although each "lesson" ends with dubious, unverified data of the sensationalist scare type. My favorite story concerns the threat of dealers "dusting" marijuana with heroin, which makes the marijuana smoker an unknowing heroin addict. The narration is done by a pleasant Austinite male voice adding to the low-key nature of the record as a whole, in stark contrast to the very funny front cover photo which is straight out of a bible belt PTA meeting. Looks to me like the guy not just went through a lot of drugs but a major lifestyle decision, judging by the amount of mascara and rouge he wears in the "after" photo.
