Comments: Obscure Santa Cruz, CA area spoken word/gospel album from drug treatment center. Music is incompetent whitebread Jesus hymns recorded live via an overloaded PA system that even hardened church-going folks will have a difficult time sitting through. Inbetween the songs are 4 ex-junkie testimonies and as usual with these LPs the stories told are pretty amazing. Two guys deliver typical needle-freak to salvation retrospectives while another guy is remarkable simply on grounds of the chaotic, scatterbrained nature of his testimony. Methedrine seems to be the drug of choice in the area, though there are also several refernces to LSD and STP. The highpoint of the LP is delivered by the sole female speaker who'd certainly burned her candle in both ends. Apart from the junkie lament she testifies of her "intense desire to kill people" and a fear that Jesus may not be willing to help her on grounds of her being Jewish. The center is still operational for those interested.
